Of the third season of Gran Fondo Dnipro Race

Date: 16.06.2019 Time: 09:00 — 14:00 Place: Dnipro

Place of start: a helipad on a section of the Yuzhnyy Obkhod road in the Dnipro city.
Place of finish: a 13-th kilometer of a section of the Yuzhnyy Obkhod road in the Dnipro city.
Race distance: Gran Fondo Dnipro Race – 155 km (height difference 1100 m)

1. About a cycling race

Grand Fondo Dnipro Race occurs in the form of individual group cycling race with an overall start on a road.  В Gran Fondo Dnipro Race могут принять участие мужчины категории любители и Masters на шоссейных велосипедах в возрасте 19 лет и старше.
Men will compete in Gran Fondo Dnipro Race in 4 age groups:
Men:
M1: 19-34 years
M2: 35-44 years
M3: 45-54 years
M4: 55+
Age group is determined by the participant’s age by the 31st of December of the current year.
License is not required to participate in a cycle race!

2. Rules of the race

The cycling race falls under the rules of the road bicycle racing established by the Union Cycliste Internationale, UCI; rules of the Gran Fondo Dnipro Race, and complies with the race organizers decisions.
Race organizers reserve the right to make changes to the race regulations which then can be found on the official website: gfdniprorace.com

3. Health, safety and observance of road regulations

Each race participant freely chooses to participate in the race understanding the risks to their own health during and after the race.
Each race participant takes personal responsibility for their physical condition and ability to participate in the race.
In no case organizers, sponsors and officials of the race are responsible for:
— any material harm to the race participant caused by the third-parties during, before and after the race; — race-related injuries or death (during, before or after the race).
The responsibility for the material harm or physical and health damage to the third-parties rests solely with the race participants.
The race participants are allowed to participate in the race only after providing a signed receipt for taking all the responsibility for their health and physical condition and technical training.
The race participants who got separated from the main group and were passed by the «Race end» car are obligated to keep to the right side of the road and to observe road regulations.

4. Conditions for participation in Gran Fondo Dnipro Race

The cycling is accepting male cycling amateurs and masters on road bikes who are 19 years old and older with or without National Federation license.
The race participants are allowed to the race as long as they pay the entry fee and timely and properly register.
The list of individuals who are not allowed to participate in the cycle race Gran Fondo Dnipro Race:
— racers licensed Elite, Under 23;
— racers who have been members of the team registered in UCI during the current year.
In a case when a race participant violates the conditions of participation in Gran Fondo Dnipro Race organizers reserve the right to submit a complaint to the National Federation and UCI to impose disciplinary action on a racer who has violated this regulation.
Organizers reserve the right to invite current racers as honored guests to participate in a cycling race hors concours.

5. The registration

Pre-registration is only possible online through the website: https://velothebest.comhttps://velothebest.com
Race organizers reserve the right to pause or close the registration without warning if the participants limits are reached.
Online pre-registration to participate in a cycling race starts at 9:00 AM on April 1, 2019, and finishes at 9:00 PM on June 11, 2019.
You can also register on:
— June 15, 2019, from 10:00 AM till 6:00 PM at the place of delivery of entry packages;
— June 16, 2019, from 7:00 AM till 8:30 AM at starting place.
If a race participant provides inaccurate or wrong data his or her registration will be canceled. If a registration is canceled the entry fee won’t be returned.
A paid registration can’t be canceled or used under a different name.
An entry fee doesn’t include a commission fee for cash fund transfers.
In no case an entry fee paid by the race participant is returnable. For example, if a race participant can’t participate in a cycling race or if he or she was disqualified, or if the competition was canceled to the force majeure situation, an entry fee won’t be returned.
The entry fee is:
300 hrn if paid from 1.04 to 30.04
500 hrn if paid from 1.05 to 31.05
700 hrnif paid from 1.06 to 11.06
1000 hrn if paid from 15.06
*The paid entry fee means that a race participant bought a starting number.

6. An entry package, receiving an entry package

Delivering of the entry packages takes place on June 15, 2019, from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM in a shop «Velik&Rolik» at the address: Dnipro city, Bogdan Khmelnitsky avenue, 5; and on June 16, 2019 from 7:00 AM to 8:30 PM at starting place.
The following documents are required to receive an entry package:
— identification document;
— a signed receipt for taking all the responsibility for their health and physical condition and technical training.
If any of the mentioned documents is missing at the time of receiving of an entry package or if any of the mentioned documents is invalid a participant won’t be allowed to participate in a cycling race, and his/her entry fee won’t be returned.
An entry package includes:
— starting number;
-the program schedule;
-sponsor gifts;
— drinking water (buffet) at the spots of 74 and 145 kilometers of the race distance;
— drinking water and snacks after the finish (at starting place).

7. Start

A cycling race starts on June 16, 2019, at 9:00 AM from starting place at a helipad on a section of the Yuzhnyy Obkhod road in the Dnipro city.
You can find a detailed plan of a race route here: gfdniprorace.com Starting boxes open at 8:20 AM and close in 5 minutes before the start of the race.

8. Equipment and bicycle

Each participant should wear a fastened functional helmet. Participants are recommended to have an extra tire and portable pump.
Participants of the Gran Fondo Dnipro Race are allowed to participate in the race only on road bicycles with working brakes.

9. Escort vehicles

Escort vehicles are are prohibited.

10. Broom wagon

In the event of malfunctioning of the bicycle cyclists can use the help of a mobile bicycle service «Velo-Dnepr». Cyclists who drop out the race for whatever reason can use a broom wagon to return to starting place. A broom wagon follows the «Race end» car.

11. Privacy

12. Results

Each race participant should get to all checkpoints located 19 km, 37 km, 59 km, 90 km, 108 km, 130 km, and 149 km into the race.
A cyclist who missed any of checkpoints will be disqualified and will lose his/her result. The results of the competition will be put on an information board in 45 minutes after the finish.
The final results will be available in 24 hours after the end of the competition on a website: gfdniprorace.com Gran Fondo Dnipro Race organizers can’t guarantee that a cyclist get a result if he/she:
— didn’t follow the instructions on attaching race number and failed to do it properly;
— changed or cropped a race number;
— lost a race number.

13. Time limit

Time limit for Gran Fondo Dnipro Race is 5 hours. After the time limit is reached, a finish line will be closed, and results won’t be recorded.

14. Selection of the winners and prize winners, and rewarding

Winners and prize winners are selected among the cyclists who finished according to the UCI regulations. All cyclists of Gran Fondo Dnipro Race who get to all checkpoints and finish before the time limit is reached will receive a Finisher Medal. Each age category winners and prize winners of Gran Fondo Dnipro Race will receive championship cups and medals.
The overall Gran Fondo Dnipro Race winner gets:
— Gran Fondo Dnipro Race Winner Cup;
— the number one to compete in the next Gran Fondo Dnipro Race;
— a Gran Fondo Dnipro Race Champion t
-shirt which he/she can wear on any forthcoming Gran Fondo Dnipro Races;
— his/her name put on a Gran Fondo Dnipro Race Winner Cup for forthcoming Gran Fondo Dnipro Races.
The overall Gran Fondo Dnipro Race prize winners get medals.
A race participant who doesn’t come to the award ceremony is deprived of the right to get prizes and rewards.

 15. Disqualification

The panel of judges reserves the right to disqualify a race participant in the following cases:
— if a race participant violates paragraph 4 of Gran Fondo Dnipro Race regulation;
— if a race participant is spotted towing;
— if a race participant doesn’t get to all checkpoints;
— if a race participant blatantly violated the traffic rules;
— if a race participant takes a shortcut;
— if a race participant number was registered on a different name;
— if a race participant makes a false start;
— if a race participant starts from a wrong starting box;
— if a race participant moves a nonrectilinear motion which led to a fall of other cyclists;
— for unsportsmanlike conduct.
After the announcement of final results on a website www.gfdniprorace.com race participants can’t be disqualified. The disqualified race participant is obligated to return all rewards, medals, cups and a t-shirt in 48 hours after the announcement of final results on a website www.gfdniprorace.com

 

16. Appeals and claims

A race participant can file an appeal to effect a selection of the winners in his/her age category in 30 minutes after a race time limit was reached.
All appeals and claims must be submitted in writing to the chief judge of the race.
All appeals and claims are reviewed by the panel of judges only after the payment of 700 hrn;
if successful this amount will be returned; if declined this amount will not be returned.
When filing a claim, please provide your name and last name, the substance of the claim, basis for the claim (photo or video evidence, personal opinion, etc.)
Only race participants can fill a claim or file an appeal.
